The invention relates to the technical field of recycling of solid wastes in the aluminum industry, in particular to a method for preparing aluminoferrite cement based on red mud and aluminoferrite cement. The method comprises the following steps: stirring a red mud raw material, and then drying to obtain a dried material with a preset water content; the dried material is ground and then screened, and a mixed material with the preset particle size is obtained; preheating the mixed material, and then cooling to obtain a pretreated mixed material; mixing a fluxing agent with the pretreated mixed material, and then performing extrusion forming to obtain a calcined raw material; calcining the calcining raw material to obtain the aluminoferrite cement; the mass ratio of the fluxing agent to the pretreated mixture is greater than or equal to 0.03; according to the method, the fluxing agent is added into the red mud raw material, so that the adding amount of the red mud raw material can be increased, and the compressive strength of the prepared aluminoferrite cement can be improved.
