Method for widening embankment by using waste tires
The invention belongs to the technical field of highway embankment widening engineering, and particularly relates to an embankment widening method using waste tires. The method is suitable for a low-embankment widening project with the embankment height smaller than the subgrade working area depth and mainly comprises the following steps that a flattened and compacted side slope is excavated into terrace-shaped steps, rigid piles with the preset density are constructed on the outer edge of foundation soil of a base of a widening part, pile caps are formed at the tops of the rigid piles, and the pile caps and the rigid piles are arranged in a staggered mode; and a geogrid-waste tire-graded broken stone reinforced cushion layer is laid, and construction is conducted step by step from bottom to top along the steps. The waste tires have the three-dimensional structure higher than that of the geocell, certain bending resistance is achieved, vertical stress transmitted from the upper portion can be effectively diffused through the effects of lateral constraint, vertical friction and the like in the waste tires, the good deformation coordinating effect can be achieved under the differential settlement condition, and the effect of deformation coordinating is achieved. Therefore, differential settlement between the existing embankment and the embankment widening part is effectively controlled.
