The invention provides an artificial stone plate and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the field of building materials. The coating comprises 5-20% of an unsaturated polyester resin liquid A, 10-30% of an unsaturated polyester resin liquid B, 1-40% of mica sheets and 20-60% of a filler, the preparation method comprises the following steps: uniformly stirring the unsaturated polyester resin liquid A, pouring into a mold, and curing to form the transparent protective layer; mixing the unsaturated polyester resin liquid B and mica sheets, uniformly stirring, pouring into a mold, paving and compacting; the filler is poured into the mold, vibration pressing and curing forming are carried out under vacuum, and a stone blank is obtained; a slicking machine is used for slicking the stone blank and determining the thickness of the stone blank; and coating the surface of the transparent protective layer of the stone blank with a resin layer, curing and polishing to obtain the artificial stone plate. The natural mica sheets are added into the raw materials, so that the surface of the stone plate has different texture, luster and texture from other artificial stone plates, and a brand-new decorative effect is achieved.
