Balcony fixing
The fixing comprises a socket 100 defining a cavity for receiving a structural bar 300 and having a connection wall 102, and one or more load-bearing anchors 501, 502 which extend through apertures in the connection wall. Stubs 504 may extend through stub apertures in the connection wall. The structural bar may have a connection plate at one end which fixes to the anchors. Insulating foam may be disposed around the bar. There may be insulation between outer and inner surfaces of the connection wall. Also claimed is a method of installing the fixing onto one or more load-bearing anchors set within a slab comprising passing the anchors through the apertures in the connection wall. Also claimed is a method of installing the fixing onto a concrete slab comprising drilling one or more holes in the slab, inserting a respective anchor into a hole, and attaching the socket to the anchor. The socket is preferably GRP to reduce heat loss and provide a thermal break.
