PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication apparatus capable of suppressing deterioration of communication efficiency due to miniaturization of the apparatus.SOLUTION: A portable communication apparatus 10 comprises: a mechanical key 20 made of conductive material for mechanically locking or unlocking a door of a vehicle 1; and a transmission antenna 14 for transmitting a radio signal. A housing section 12 for housing the mechanical key 20 is provided in a casing 11, in which the built-in transmission antenna 14 is contained. When the mechanical key 20 is housed in the housing section 12, the transmission antenna 14 and the mechanical key 20 are electrically connected together. In the portable communication apparatus 10, a push switch 15 detects the housing state of the mechanical key 20 in the housing section 12, and in accordance with the result of the detection, an impedance matching circuit corrects the impedance of a communication circuit 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
