PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fork type parking device capable of parking a vehicle of the vehicle length longer than a conventional fork type parking device even in the same site area.SOLUTION: A fork type parking device comprises a storage shelf 4 adjacent to a vertically extending hoistway 3 and storing a vehicle 2, a comb-shaped tray 6 traversable between the hoistway 3 and the storage shelf 4, a pair of traverse rails 8 for traversably supporting the comb-shaped tray 6 by extending in the width direction of the vehicle 2 in both end parts in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle 2 of the hoistway 3 and the storage shelf 4 and a driving device 18 for traversing the comb-shaped tray 6. The traverse rails 8 comprise a plurality of rollers 12 arranged in the width direction and placing the comb-shaped tray 6, a rotary shaft 14 of the rollers 12 extending in the longitudinal direction and a rail member 10 having a pair of steel plates 11 for rotatably supporting both end parts of a rotary shaft 14 of sandwiching the roller 12 in-between. An upper end part of the roller 12 is positioned above the upper end part of the rail member 10. The driving device 18 traverses the comb-shaped tray 6 by rotating the roller 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
