POSITION ESTIMATION SYSTEM AND ON-VEHICLE DEVICE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate, with improved accuracy, a position relative to a vehicle of a portable device located outside of the vehicle by using radio waves transmitted and received between the vehicle and the portable device while allowing position estimation to cover a longer range.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle device 3 includes: a transmission unit 31 that simultaneously transmits radio waves from a pair of transmission antennas among a first transmission antenna 30a, a second transmission antenna 30b, and a third transmission antenna 30c for transmitting a radio wave at a prescribed frequency in an LF band, and in addition transmits radio waves from one transmission antenna of at least the pair of transmission antennas or a pair of transmission antennas including the one; and a position estimation unit 39 for estimating the position of the portable device relative to a host vehicle on the basis of signals returned from the portable device in response to the radio waves sequentially transmitted by the transmission unit 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
