PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lease method for tatami mat with which cost is suppressed and exchange may be carried out in a short time period.SOLUTION: There is provided a lease method for tatami mat, comprising: a step A were size of a plurality of tatami mats spread in a room is wrote; a step B where tatami core to be used is selected by comparing the size of a plurality of tatami cores previously prepared with the size of said plurality of tatami mats; a step C where tatami mats to be introduced into the room is recycled with the plurality of tatami cores so as to produce recycled tatami mats; and step D where the plurality of tatami mats are removed from the room and the plurality of recycled tatami mats are spread in the room. In the step C, as to production of recycled tatami mat having a smaller size than the tatami core to be used, length side and/or width side of the tatami core are cut into the size of the recycled tatami mats and then the recycled tatami mat is produced by attaching a tatami mat cover, while as to production of recycled tatami mat having a larger size than the tatami core to be used, length side and/or width side of the tatami core is cut and an extending member is attached onto the cut surface of the tatami core and then the recycled tatami mat is produced by attaching a tatami mat cover.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
