OBSTACLE DETECTOR, TRAVELING DEVICE, OBSTACLE DETECTION SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR DETECTING OBSTACLE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle detector, a traveling device, an obstacle detection system, and a method for detecting an obstacle with which it is possible to prevent false detection and realize stable sensing by a simple configuration when detecting surrounding information.SOLUTION: Provided is a traveling device (1) in which an obstacle detector (100) is mounted that includes a plurality of obstacle detection units for detecting an obstacle and a control unit (50) for controlling detection by the obstacle detection unit, the obstacle detection unit being provided with an ultrasonic sensor (30) and an LIDAR sensor (31), the LIDAR sensor (31) being constituted to be capable of detecting an obstacle in the detection range of the ultrasonic sensor (30) and detecting an obstacle in a farther range than the detection range of the ultrasonic sensor (30), the control unit (50) controlling detection in such way that when detection becomes impossible in the detection range of one of the ultrasonic sensor (30) and the LIDAR sensor (31), the undetectable range of the other is complemented.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
