To cause a moving member such as a door to be provided with dimming function.SOLUTION: A dimmer 1 comprises a moving member having an opening portion and a light adjusting member fitted in the opening portion. The light adjusting member includes: a first light transmitting portion and a second light transmitting portion which are arranged in a face to face manner and which are configured such that an overlapping state between their facing surfaces can be adjusted in a plural stepwise manner upon their relative movement toward one another in a predetermined direction; a first light adjusting portion supported by the first light transmitting portion; a second light adjusting portion supported by the second light transmitting portion; and a moving member operating tool for moving the moving member. The light adjusting member has a transmittance in a visible wavelength range which is made different, in a range at which the first light adjusting portion and the second light adjusting portion overlap, according to the relative movement amount in the predetermined direction of the first light transmitting portion and the second light transmitting portion. The moving member is disposed in a first direction on a predetermined reference plane and a second direction crossing the reference plane. The light adjusting member is disposed on a side closer to the moving member operation tool than a center line extending in the second direction through the center position in the first direction of the moving member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
