To provide a dimming film which includes a guest-host type liquid crystal layer having the dichroic coloring dye and prevents rainbow unevenness.SOLUTION: A dimming film 1 includes: a first laminate 5D in which a first substrate 6. a first electrode 11 and a first orientation film 13 are laminated; a second laminate 5U in which a second substrate 15, a second electrode 16 and a second orientation film 17 are laminated; a liquid crystal layer 8 which is sandwiched by the first laminate 5D and the second laminate 5U and contains a liquid crystal composition and the dichroic coloring dye; A slow axis direction L6 of the first substrate 6 is perpendicular or parallel to the orientation direction L13 of the liquid crystal composition located directly above a plane on the liquid crystal layer 8 side of the first orientation film 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
