To provide a pier structure construction method and pier structure capable of improving workability.SOLUTION: A pier structure 100 construction method is a method of constructing a pier structure 100 including a pier girder 1 supported by a main pile 2. The pier structure 100 construction method includes: a lifting step S10 of lifting a pier girder unit 10 which constitutes a part of the pier girder 1; and a connecting step S20 of connecting the pier girder unit 10 to an end of an existing pier girder 200 in a drawing direction D1. In the lifting step S10, the pier girder unit 10 is lifted while a first temporary pile 6 is provided at a position on the center side in the drawing direction D1 of the pier girder unit 10. In the connecting step S20, the lower end of the first temporary pile 6 is supported on a ground G, and the height of the pier girder unit 10 is adjusted along the first temporary pile 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
