To provide a sound absorption material having sound absorption performance in a wide frequency range including a frequency range around 2 kHz.SOLUTION: The sound absorption material 1 is composed of: a fixing material layer 10 made of a hard material having no continuous penetrating holes; a porous layer 31 made of a porous material formed on the fixing material layer and having continuous penetrating holes, and provided with Helmholtz resonators 23 having neck portions 21 and cavity portions 22; and a skin layer 40 formed on the porous layer. In a neck portion, the porous material is exposed and an inner wall of the cavity portion is covered with a resin layer 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
