To provide a structural material capable of restricting deformation and breakage at a longitudinal end part in a stiffener without leading to cost increase in manufacture.SOLUTION: A buckling constraint brace 4 which is one of structural materials comprises a predefined length steel material 5 integrated into a structure to increase the strength and stiffness of the structure, and stiffeners 6 that the steel material 5 is sandwiched therebetween, with them extended to the same direction of the steel material 5, and are composed of woody material. In the buckling constraint brace 4, the steel material 5 is constrained between the stiffeners 6 sandwiching the steel material 5 therebetween so as not to be wholly buckled when the steel material 5 being compressed about the longitudinal direction of the steel material 5, and end constraint parts 21 are provided at both end parts of the longitudinal direction of the stiffeners 6 to increase the constraint of the steel material 5 than the central part of the longitudinal direction thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】製造時のコストアップを招くことなく補剛材における長手方向の端部での変形及び損傷を抑制することができる構造材を提供する。【解決手段】構造材の一つである座屈拘束ブレース4は、構造物の強度及び剛性を高めるために同構造物に組み込まれる定められた長さの鋼材5と、その鋼材5と同方向に延びた状態で同鋼材5を間に挟み込む木質系材料からなる補剛材6と、を備える。この座屈拘束ブレース4では、鋼材5の長手方向についての圧縮時に同鋼材5が全体座屈しないよう、その鋼材5を間に挟み込む補剛材6同士によって同鋼材5を拘束している。また、補剛材6同士の長手方向の両端部には、その長手方向の中央部よりも、鋼材5の拘束を強くする端部拘束部21が設けられている。【選択図】図2
