To provide an elevation device that can be structured to further enhance damper effect while operation of vertically moving a movable member is stabilized without increasing the scale of the device structure.SOLUTION: An elevation device 1 generates damper effect when a movable part vertically moves relative to a fixed part of an installation object (western style toilet). The device includes: a fixed member 2 that is fixed to the fixed part (toilet body) of the installation object; a movable member 3 that is fixed to the movable part (device body) of the installation object and that is structured vertically movably relative to the fixed member 2. The movable member 3 has a clamped member, and the fixed member 2 has a clamping member that generates damper effect as the state of clamping the clamped member when the movable member 3 is vertically moving. The clamped member is arranged in the laterally central part of the fixed member 2 in view from the installation object side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
