To provide an impermeable wall and a revetment wall that can conserve landscapes and ecosystems.SOLUTION: The present invention comprises a pair of gabions 2 arranged at intervals in the water blocking direction across the installation direction, and an impermeable cartridge 4 mounted between the pair of gabions 2. The impermeable cartridge 4 has a box-shaped housing 40 having an opening formed on a side surface in the water blocking direction. A plurality of water swelling members 5 that expands by containing water is arranged at intervals in the housing 40. In the normal state before the water swelling member 5 swells, there is a gap penetrating in the water blocking direction, and after the water swelling member 5 expands, the gap penetrating in the water blocking direction is closed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
