To provide an automatic locking device capable of preventing a dead bolt from projecting to a maximum projection amount and becoming locked in an open door state.SOLUTION: An automatic locking device has a lock state in which a dead bolt 70 is projected to a maximum projection amount Pb and a latch state in which the same is projected to an intermediate projection amount Pa, and is equipped with a trigger mechanism 90 in which a trigger actuation member 91 inside a front plate 62 operates to act on a latch engagement member 85 to release the latch state when the door is closed. When the door is closed, a first permanent magnet M1 provided integrally with the trigger actuation member 91 responds to a second permanent magnet M2 provided inside a strike plate 61, and a magnetic force acting on each other is received to operate the trigger actuation member 91.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
