To provide a technology of a holding device that holds an object, has good thermal conductivity between a holding portion and a supporting portion, and suppresses separation between the holding portion and the supporting portion.SOLUTION: A holding device includes a holding portion that is formed in a plate shape and has a mounting surface on which an object is mounted, a supporting portion that is disposed on the side opposite to the mounting surface with respect to the holding portion and formed of a material having a different coefficient of thermal expansion from the material forming the holding portion, and a joint portion that is disposed between the holding portion and the supporting portion and joining the holding portion and the supporting portion, and the joint portion includes a carbon nanotube layer in which a plurality of carbon nanotubes are arranged such that the longitudinal direction of the carbon nanotubes is oriented along the stacking direction of the holding portion and the supporting portion, and an adhesive layer containing an adhesive as a main component and bonding the holding portion and the carbon nanotube layer and bonding the carbon nanotube layer and the supporting portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
