To provide a door opening holding device for a vehicle, for enabling an elderly or handicapped passenger having a weak leg and loin to safely walk along a vehicle door by enabling a vehicle door to be fixed at a predetermined opening where the passenger can pass.SOLUTION: In a vehicle door D which is hinge-connected to a pillar P of a vehicle body and through and in which a door check stay L1 of a door check link L having a front end pivoted to the pillar P is inserted and supported so as to be horizontally movable forward and backward together with a front end D1 and a door check mechanism part mounted to the inside face thereof, positioning means 1 is provided which is provided at the base end of the door check stay L1 and stops a stopper L3 abutted on the rear end face of a storage case L2 of the door check mechanism part having an insert-through port for the door check stay L1 when the vehicle door D is fully opened, at the properly opened position of the vehicle door D.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
