VEHICLE DOOR HOLDING DEVICE
To provide a vehicle door holding device capable of holding the position of a vehicle door even without being energized.SOLUTION: A vehicle door holding device 20 includes a spindle screw 22, a connecting rod 24 which causes the spindle screw 22 to rotate in conjunction with an opening/closing of a vehicle door 12, and a brake mechanism 30 which can be switched between a non-operating state in which the rotation of the spindle screw 22 is not restricted and an operating state in which the rotation is restricted, in which: the brake mechanism 30 includes a brake shaft 33 which rotates in unison with the spindle screw 22, an armature 35 which can move in the axial direction of the brake shaft 33 but cannot rotate, a yoke 32 which is disposed to be engageable with and disengageable from the armature 35, and a brake coil 31 which brings the armature 35 into contact with the yoke 32 by the magnetic field generated by energization; and at least one of the armature 35 and the yoke 32 is formed of a semi-hard magnetic material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
