To provide a coated film peeling method in which a specific coating material is applied to an old coated film and is dried to form a coated film, and then the coated film is peeled off with a peeling agent.SOLUTION: A coated film peeling method according to the present invention, which peels off an old coated film on a substrate, includes a step of applying a coating material (I) onto a surface of an old coated film and drying the coating material to form a coated film (I), and a step of applying a peeling agent onto a surface of the coated film (I) and softening the coated film (I) and then peeling off the coated film (I) and the old coated film, where the coating material (I) includes a resin component and a powder component.SELECTED DRAWING: None
