The Fourth Action Year of the District of Columbia Neighborhood Development Program: Downtown Urban Renewal Area
The proposed modifications provide for: the addition of land use and building controls; the designation of a site of one-half acre in Square 488 for acquisition, clearance, disposition for redevelopment and for the construction of a new fire station by the District of Columbia Government in conjunction with a municipal office building; and the designation of a site of one and one-half acres in Square 449 for acquisition and clearance. The potential environmental impacts within the context of three broad categories: the physical, social, and aesthetic/historic environments as well as adverse environmental effects are discussed.
