Design Section A002: Rockville and Pentagon Routes. Subsurface Investigation
Results of four supplementary borings performed near the southeast corner of Farragut Square at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Eye Street N.W. are summarized. The purpose of the work was to evaluate subsurface conditions, particularly the character of decomposed rock and bedrock, at a point where two subway routes crossed. The report contains revised geological sections through the borings, logs of the borings and conclusions regarding subsurface characteristics. (Author)
