Durability of Paving Asphalts Laboratory Test and Field Data Comparison
In this final report of a long term study of paving asphalt durability, a comparison is made between several laboratory procedures which were used in an attempt to predict asphalt hardening. The asphalts were used in eight asphalt concrete test sections at various locations in the State of California. Included in the report are data from all of the laboratory procedures plus weathering data from the eight test sections. Comparisons were made using different statistical approaches including a least squares curve fitting program, graphic comparison to a 45 degree line, and a covariance analysis program.
