Proposed Little Blue Trace Land Acquisition, Jackson County, Missouri. Land and Water Conservation Fund Project Number 29-00437
The Jackson County, Missouri, Park Department proposes to acquire 1,384 acres of land along a 25-mile segment of Little Blue River in Jackson County, Missouri, for public outdoor recreation purposes. The land will provide over 50 miles of urban trails and establish a greenbelt which will guide development in Little Blue Valley. The park will serve the entire metropolitan Kansas City area. The main impact of this project will be to set aside a scenic area for the recreation and enjoyment of millions of people. Residential, commercial, and industrial development will be excluded. The proposed action should have beneficial environmental and social benefits.
