Standard codes (Indian, British, Eurocode, Australian standards, and many other codes) are used for the designDesignof masonryMasonrystructuresStructure. In the absence of dedicated masonry design code on the stabilised compressed earth blockStabilised compressed earth block (CEB) masonry, the existing masonry design codes can be made use of, for the design of cement stabilised CEBCement StabilisedCEB masonry. This chapter deals with the design of stabilised CEB masonry, illustrating both working stress design (WSD) and limit state design (LSD) methods. The masonry design philosophy has been explained. The actual masonry design has been illustrated through examples using both WSD and LSD methods. The chapter ends with a comparison of stabilised CEB strengths needed when the design has been carried out using WSD and LSD methods.
