Betontechnik und Ausführung im Los Nord der ICE-Neubaustrecke Nürnberg-Ingolstadt, insbesondere der Tunnel Offenbau
The new Inter City Express (ICE) line section Nürnberg-Ingolstadt has a total length of approximately 83 km. In 1998, the consortium 'ARGE ICE - NBS Nürnberg-Ingoldstadt - Los Nord' with technically leadership of the Bilfinger Berger AG received the order for construction of 'Los Nord'. This includes the construction of numerous single building projects, such as roads, rain storage basins and rain seepage reservoirs, drainage lines, retaining walls and noise barriers, railway and road bridges as well as tunnels. For the construction of those projects more than 500,000 m(exp3) fly ash optimized concrete were used, comprising bridges (approx. 10,000 m(exp3)), shotcrete (approx. 70,000 m(exp3)), tunnel linings (approx. 60,000 m(exp3)), bored piled concrete (approx. 100,000 m(exp3)), tunnels with cut and cover method (75,000 m(exp3)), trough structures (approx. 35,000 m(exp3)), elevated trackways (approx. 18,000 m(exp3)) and hydraulic bound base layer for rigid track system (approx. 60,000 m(exp3)). Fly ash concretes were preferred in particular for massive structures or structures which are exposed to high residual stress caused by heat of hydration, such as tunnel linings and walls. Furthermore, the use of fly ash leads to improved properties of the concrete (porosity, chemical resistance, etc).
