The present invention provides a silicon nitride powder material preparation method, which comprises: (1) mixing silicon nitride powder, a sintering aid, a binder and an ethanol aqueous solution with a volume ratio of 95-99.9%, and carrying out ball milling to obtain a slurry; and (2) drying the slurry obtained in the step (1), crushing, and granulating to obtain the silicon nitride powder material. According to the preparation method of the present invention, the dried slurry is directly added into the granulator, such that the production is simple, the cost is saved, and the pollution on the granulated powder material due to multiply operations is avoided; and the prepared granulated powder material has characteristics of good fluidity, uniform particle size distribution, and good powder material molding effect.
