The invention relates to a method for preparing fine-grain terbium aluminum garnet-based magneto-optical ceramic, which comprises the following steps: carrying out ball milling treatment on terbium aluminum garnet-based nano powder, a sintering aid and a solvent to obtain slurry, drying, sieving and preparing a ceramic biscuit, the sintering aid is selected from at least one of tetraethoxysilane, magnesium oxide, zirconium oxide, titanium oxide, germanium oxide and the like, and the total addition amount of the sintering aid is 0.001-1wt% of the terbium aluminum garnet-based nano powder; and carrying out pre-sintering and hot isostatic pressing sintering on the obtained ceramic biscuit to obtain the fine-grain transparent terbium aluminum garnet-based magneto-optical ceramic.
