The invention discloses a preparation process of high-purity superfine silicon nitride powder, which comprises the following steps: S1, preparation of a silicon block blank: S11, mixing silicon powder with a diluent to obtain a powder mixture; s12, mixing the powder mixture with a binder, and carrying out spheroidizing treatment to obtain silicon powder mixed particles; s13, carrying out compression molding on the silicon powder mixed particles to obtain a silicon block green body; s2, preparation of a silicon nitride block: S21, carrying out first-stage sintering and degreasing on the silicon block blank under a vacuumizing condition, then carrying out second-stage sintering and nitriding, introducing a nitrogen-hydrogen-argon mixed gas which comprises nitrogen, hydrogen and argon, and discharging the gas to obtain the silicon nitride block; and S3, preparation of silicon nitride powder: S31, crushing the silicon nitride blocks to obtain the silicon nitride powder. The porosity among particles in the silicon block is increased through spheroidizing treatment, and heat accumulation is avoided; and through a reasonable sintering process, silicon overflow is avoided, conversion from an alpha phase to a beta phase is avoided, and sufficient nitridation of a silicon block is ensured.
