A smoke barrier apparatus (1) is provided. The smoke barrier apparatus comprises: a curtain (2) movable between a retracted position and a deployed position through which the passage of smoke is inhibited. The curtain is further provided with a sealing member (8a, 8b) for forming a seal with a seal-forming surface (9a, 9b) for inhibiting passage of smoke. A curtain provided with one or more such sealing members for use in such a smoke barrier apparatus is provided, as is a kit for making such a smoke barrier apparatus.
