A smoke barrier apparatus 1 is provided. The apparatus comprises: a first curtain 100 movable between a retracted position and a deployed position through which the passage of smoke is inhibited. The first curtain is provided with first sealing members 108a,b for forming a seal with a seal-forming surface 109a,b, and a second sealing member 105 for forming a seal with a surface of another curtain. The apparatus includes a second curtain 200 movable between a retracted position and a deployed position and which is similarly provided with first and second sealing members for forming a seal with a seal-forming surface and a curtain. In use, first and second curtains can be attached to each other and to respective seal-forming surfaces. In a further embodiment, a third curtain 300 may be attached between the first and second curtains.
