Ventilating New Clyde Tunnel
Ventilation of tunnel built under Clyde river in Glasgow, Scotland with steepness gradient of 1:16; ventilation is by supply and exhaust fans situated in ventilation buildings at each end of tunnel with booster fans installed at central low point of tunnel; transverse system of ventilation was adopted; air is introduced through slots at curb level from ventilation ducts at each side of tunnel and is extracted at roof level in roadway; features of noise control system.
