The invention provides an overhead working spraying robot for a steel structure building, which comprises two travel driving legs, a positioning seat, an articulated rotary mechanical arm, a manipulator and a spraying gun, wherein the travel driving legs are movably arranged at the two ends of the positioning seat by a hanging bracket respectively; the positioning seat is movably connected with one end of the articulated rotary mechanical arm; the manipulator is arranged at the other end of the articulated rotary mechanical arm, and is connected with the spraying gun in a matching manner by a spraying gun rotating arm. By matching usage of the travel driving legs, the positioning seat, the articulated rotary mechanical arm, the manipulator and the spraying gun, the spraying robot can freely climb on the steel structure building, substitutes for a labor to conduct coating spraying, effectively improves the engineering construction efficiency, accelerates an engineering progress, and solves the problems that the labor intensity is high and overhead working is dangerous when a labor sprays a coating and a paint on the steel structure building.
