The grinding wagon comprises a first steel rail grinding wagon (1) and a second steel rail grinding wagon (2), the first steel rail grinding wagon (1) is connected with the second steel rail grinding wagon (2); cab bodies (3) are arranged at the front end of the first steel rail grinding wagon (1) and the rear end of the second steel rail grinding wagon (2) respectively. The first steel rail grinding wagon (1) and the second steel rail grinding wagon (2) are each provided with a power bogie (10). A permanent magnet traction motor (15) is arranged on each power bogie (10), the first steel rail grinding wagon (1) and the second steel rail grinding wagon (2) are respectively provided with an internal combustion generator set driving device, each internal combustion generator set driving device comprises an internal combustion generator set (6), and the internal combustion generatorsets (6) are connected with the permanent magnet traction motor (15). Two-way operation is achieved through double-wagon grouping, alternating current transmission is adopted for whole wagon running,and an internal combustion generator set is adopted for power generation and the permanent magnet motor is adopted for driving operation.
