The invention discloses a track beam for a rubber wheel tramcar and a method. The track beam comprises a main beam used for supporting the rubber wheel tramcar, and the main beam comprises an I-shaped section steel beam and a concrete slab arranged on the upper portion of the I-shaped section steel beam; cross beams are arranged in parallel in the transverse bridge direction, one ends of the cross beams are connected with the lower portion of the first I-shaped section steel beam, and the other ends of the cross beams are connected with the lower portion of the second I-shaped section steel beam; and a lower flat longitudinal joint is arranged between two adjacent cross beams and between the first I-shaped section steel beam and the second I-shaped section steel beam, one end of the lower flat longitudinal joint is connected with the connecting part of one cross beam and the first I-shaped section steel beam, and the other end of the lower flat longitudinal joint is connected with the connecting part of the other cross beam and the second I-shaped section steel beam. By adopting the main beam structure of combining the I-shaped section steel beams with the concrete slabs, a stress is reasonable, a spanning capacity is high, the overall steel consumption is small, and economical efficiency is good.
