The invention relates to adhesive mortar and a preparation method thereof. The adhesive mortar comprises the following raw materials in parts by mass: 300-400 parts of cement; 40 to 50 parts of fly ash; 30 to 50 parts of sand; 1.5 to 3 parts of cellulose ether; 15 to 20 parts of latex powder; and 1 to 3 parts of nano whisker. According to the present invention, the cellulose ether, the latex powder and the nano-whisker are mixed, and then the fly ash is compounded, such that the adhesive mortar has good shrinkage resistance, such that the adhesive mortar can be used for adhesion of some structural members, and the adhesion failure caused by shrinkage and the like can be avoided.
