The invention discloses a rectangular pipe jacking backrest structure and a construction method thereof, and the structure comprises a falling bottom plate which is provided with a first end close to a connecting channel and a second end far away from the connecting channel; the space frame comprises a structural plate and a plurality of frame columns, the frame columns are poured at the second end of the falling bottom plate, the structural plate comprises an original bottom plate with the elevation higher than that of the falling bottom plate and a multi-layer floor bearing plate arranged above the original bottom plate, and the original bottom plate and the multi-layer floor bearing plate are connected to the sides, away from the falling bottom plate, of the frame columns; the position of the lowermost floor bearing plate corresponds to the upper portion of the reaction frame, the lowermost floor bearing plate is connected to the middles of the multiple frame columns through hidden beams, and the outer diameter of the column sections, located between the original bottom plate and the lowermost floor bearing plate, of the frame columns is larger than that of the other column sections of the frame columns. The method solves the problem that when pipe jacking excavation construction is adopted for the connecting channel of the two underground structures, traditional construction is poor in economical efficiency.
