The invention relates to the field of bridge detection, in particular to a special-shaped steel structure bridge climbing monitoring device which comprises a mounting box and a moving mechanism, and the moving mechanism is arranged at the bottom of the mounting box and used for driving the mounting box to move on the surface of a steel structure bridge; the device further comprises a surrounding mechanism and a detection mechanism. A vertical groove is formed in one end, in the length direction, of the mounting box, the surrounding mechanism comprises a semicircular guide block capable of moving back and forth in the length direction of the vertical groove, two arc-shaped connecting strips are arranged on the semicircular guide block in a mirror image mode, and an annular containing cavity used for containing the steel structure bridge is formed between the two arc-shaped connecting strips and the semicircular guide block; the detection mechanism is arranged at the end, close to the surrounding mechanism, of the mounting box and can detect the damage condition of the bridge surface. Through cooperation of the detection mechanism and the surrounding mechanism, steel structures of different sizes can be comprehensively detected, the mounting box can move on the surface of a steel structure bridge through the moving mechanism, and the effect of approaching inspection is achieved.
