PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To renovate an intermediate course of an existing building into a base-isolated course without directly reinforcing an existing lower beam positioned in a lower part of the intermediate course.SOLUTION: A base-isolation repair structure for an existing building includes: a downside lower column that is provided by cutting and leaving an existing column in an intermediate course of the existing building; an upside upper column that is provided by cutting and leaving the existing column; a base-isolating device that is installed on the lower column to support the upper column; a lower reinforcing beam that is supported by the lower column and provided above an existing floor slab; and an upper reinforcing beam that is supported by the upper column and provided below an existing upper beam.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
