To ensure sound welding by widening the spread of an initial layer welded part and securing a sufficient manipulation range for a welding torch without using a backing metal for butt welding.SOLUTION: In order to carry out butt welding of an outer surface of an insertion portion 5 and an opening forming surface 2A of a through hole 2 of a web 1A, when the insertion portion 5 is inserted through the through hole 2 and one side 6A of a flange portion 6 is brought into contact with a peripheral edge of the through hole 2, a degassing space S1 is formed for degassing shield gas of initial layer welding through a minute gap between the web 1A and the flange portion 6, which are in contact with each other, between an insertion base end portion 5A of the insertion portion 5 and the opening forming surface 2A. In addition, a cross-sectional shape of an outer shape of an insertion intermediate portion 5B communicated with the insertion base end portion 5A is a curved line from a groove bottom SS, and a cross-sectional shape of an outer shape of an insertion tip portion 5C communicated with the insertion intermediate portion 5B is a straight line. A J-shaped groove S2 is formed between the insertion intermediate portion 5B and the insertion tip portion 5C of the insertion portion 5 and the opening forming surface 2A of the through hole 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
