To provide a reinforcing member capable of securing a sufficient amplitude movement range of a welding torch and performing a sound welding by widening the expansion of an initial layer weld part without having to provide a root gap at the time of butt welding.SOLUTION: In a beam reinforcing member 4, a peripheral side surface 5 is formed into a smooth curved surface shape such that the outer diameter of an insertion side end surface 4T is the smallest and the outer diameter thereof expands toward the end as the distance from the insertion side end surface 4T increases. The beam reinforcing member includes: an insertion part 4A in which the peripheral side surface 5 comes into contact with an opening forming lower end part 2A1 of an opening forming surface 2A of a through hole 2 when the insertion is made from the insertion side end surface 4T into the through hole 2 of a web 1A, at a part SS1 where the outer diameter is larger than the inner diameter of the through hole 2; and a non-insertable part 4B whose longitudinal section is hollow and cylindrical, which is continuous with the insertion part 4A and has an outer diameter larger than that of the through hole 2 and cannot be inserted into the through hole 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
