To mainly enable a horizontal brace to be joined to a rectangular frame without using an intermediate member.SOLUTION: A building unit has upper and lower rectangular frames 6 formed by connecting upper ends and lower ends of four columns 3 with two pairs of parallel beams 4, a joist 8 installed between a pair of beams 4 among the beams 4 that constitute the rectangular frames 6. A horizontal brace 21 is provided that diagonally connects the pair of beams 4 on which the joist 8 is installed in at least one rectangular frame 6. At intermediate positions 22, 23 in the longitudinal direction of the beam 4, the end part of the horizontal brace 21 is directly joined to an outer surface 24 of the beams 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
