The invention discloses an obstacle-crossing curtain wall cleaning robot and an obstacle crossing method thereof, the cleaning robot comprises a detection module, a cleaning unit, at least three host modules, a lifting module and a control module; at least two host modules serve as adsorption modules to provide adsorption force, and the other host modules serve as obstacle crossing modules to conduct obstacle crossing operation; the detection module is installed on the cleaning unit, the cleaning unit is installed on the host modules, the adjacent host modules are connected through the lifting module, and the control module is in control connection with the detection module, the cleaning unit, the host modules and the lifting module; the number of the main machine modules of the cleaning robot is at least three, when the cleaning robot crosses obstacles, at least two main machine modules are adsorbed on the surface of a curtain wall, and the adsorption stability is good; and the host module is sequentially lifted through the lifting module to cross obstacles, and the covering capacity of the cleaning robot for cleaning different types of curtain walls is improved.
