PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator, an authentication system, an ic card, and a card reader that are capable of eliminating static electricity of a person by using a non-contact type IC card and suppressing occurrence of malfunction of the IC card due to the static elimination.SOLUTION: A static eliminator 1 comprises a non-contact type ic card 11 and a card reader 12. The ic card 11 comprises a card body 111 on which an integrated circuit 111a is provided, an insulation member 112 that covers an outer surface of the card body 111, and a cover 113 that has conductivity and covers an outer surface of the insulation member 112. The insulation member 112 electrically insulates the card body 111 and the cover 113. The card reader 12 comprises a conductive member 124 that has conductivity and covers at least a part of a reading part 122.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
